Reid Archibald is a Systems Safety Engineering Manager at L3Harris, Space and Aerospace Systems. Mr. Archibald has 14 years of experience in systems safety in industries across commercial aviation, transportation, and defense. He has been instrumental in adopting the use of MBSE for systems safety analysis at SAS. His team has developed in-house profiles that allow for traditional MIL-STD-882E based analysis techniques as well as newer techniques, including Systems Theoretic Process Analysis (STPA). Outside of engineering, Mr. Archibald enjoys spending time with his wife and three children in various sports, outdoor activities, and church community. Mr. Archibald is an avid mountain biker, often found pushing the limits of safety on his bike.
