In 2023, Brian Johns, PhD, became an Assistant Professor in Systems Engineering at the United States Air Force Academy. Prior to joining the Academy, he served as the Chair of the Department of Physics & Engineering at Cornell College. His diverse engineering background includes the creation of virtual-reality surgical simulators and the development of mobile apps. Over the past decade, Professor Johns has shared his expertise by teaching more than twenty unique college courses at various institutions, both within the United States and internationally. Brian holds a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering, both earned at the University of Iowa.
